There is something about France and all things French...a je ne sais pas quoi...quelque chose de francais...

When we arrived in Gustavia, the main town on the island of St. Barth, I could immediately see all the things that are common between Gustavia and Paris.  The kind of shops, the architecture, the style of the little poles that separate the sidewalk from the street.  Having lived in Paris it was like coming home when I saw "La Poste" with its yellow and blue logo and mailboxes, and open air cafes with small round tables.  In St. Barth we splurged on a French lunch with wine and cafe (aka - Americans know it as - espresso) sitting at an open air cafe, a small round table, right on the harbor with the water lapping at our feet.  As I wrote on a postcard, this is heaven for a francophile!
