We ended up spending just about a week in Culebra just because we were having too nice a time to leave. There is a harbor bounded by a reef and the island so that you are almost completely enclosed by still beautiful water. We took a mooring ball there and almost left when we discovered it was time for the Heineken Regatta and the harbor was filling up with tons of boats. But then we thought it might be fun to stay and watch, especially since we had the best mooring spot in the whole place (by our estimation!)
We spent a week watching the races, kayaking, and swimming. We also went out to a great dinner on "Conga night". The more the days are filled with fun, the fewer pictures I take. So here are the only two pictures I apparently took of Culebra. They show a funky houseboat anchored just ahead of us behind the reef. There is a rainbow fading in the distance. In Dakity harbor where we were moored is also a floating bar, a powerboat with a floating deck attached. On the weekends people swim, float, walk, and boat up to the bar and drink bushwhackers.
