We took the "fast ferry" from Spanish Wells, where we stayed a few days, on a day trip to Harbour Island. The route from Spanish Wells to Harbour Island is called the "Devil's Backbone" because it is full of reefs and rocks and the route is tricky - many people hire a pilot to help them get through. Since it was blowing pretty hard and the water was rough, we decided to leave our boat in Spanish Wells and just take the ferry for the day. But next time, we will travel on the "Devil's Backbone"!
Harbour Island is famous for its pink sand. But they also have many beautiful pink buildings, like this church that was built in 1768.
The sand was not only pink, but if felt like walking on powdered sugar, and it never felt hot on your feet. Here I am on the pink sand beach with the Atlantic Ocean behind me.
